C++ over the time

The first phrase from the preface of "The C++ Programming Language" by Bjarne Stroustrup on its four editions:

  • 1985: C++ is a general purpose programming language designed to make programming more enjoyable for the serious programmer.
  • 1991: As promised in the first edition of this book, C++ has been evolving to meet the needs of its users.
  • 1997: I find using C++ more enjoyable than ever.
  • 2013: C++ feels like a new language.

I agree, I'm waiting for Fifth  Edition.
